Mike began his farming career on a dairy farm in 1980 and then went on to study Farm Management for two years at Bishop Burton College. Following this he gained extensive experience working on arable farms in North Lincolnshire and Australia. In 1986 he moved into grain trading and worked for Dalgety, Kenneth Wilson and Gleadel Agriculture. In 2000 he joined forces with Bill Faulding and together they formed Gibson & Faulding Ltd. Mike designed and built three mobile seed dressers which are housed on step frame articulated trailers. When GFP was formed Mike oversaw the design and building of the new seed plant at Elsham which has a capability of cleaning 30 tonnes of seed an hour and can clean every agricultural commodity. Mike also looks after the 120 acre farm that GFP rents for testing varieties and chemicals on field scale basis and breeds Limosine cattle.
