Bill studied at Bishop Burton College before leaving to help run the 600 acre family farm.
In 1986 he formed the company IAT Limited which specialised in salmon farming based in the Shetland Isles with a turnover of 8 million. The company managed design , manufacture and installation of sea life support systems for public aquariums.
This ranged from locally based clients The Deep in Hull, to high profile projects around the world including the famous Jameirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.
After selling the business in early 2000 he set up Gibson & Faulding with Mike and the two formed a strong partnership. In addition to the three mobile units the company ran a successful amenity weed spraying and landscaping business.
